Iran considering reopening of movie theaters

Iranian Organization of Cinema has set to prepare a proposal to reopen movie theaters across the country.

According to the Iranian Organization of Cinema, the reopening of movie theaters was reviewed during the fifth session of “the working group on review of negative impact of coronavirus on cinema” that was held on Wednesday.

At the end of the session, it was agreed that a proposal to reopen movie theaters would be prepared in the next session, scheduled for Saturday, to be presented to Iran's National Headquarters to Fight the Coronavirus.

The organization published a number of protective measures, including reducing the capacity of movie theaters, on its website which would be reviewed on Saturday.

The coronavirus pandemic has forced the closure of movie theaters in Iran and other countries and led to the cancellation or postponement of many film festivals.
